Welcome to Palmu Holidays, A 100% Transparent as well as A Non-Profit Organization Set up To Help Change the Way Volunteers Are Helping to Secure a Bright Future for Nepal. We Are Registered With All the Nepalese Government Bodies That Allow Us to Continue Our Work by Helping to Uplift The Poor Communities Of Nepal. The Volunteering has become so popular over the years so because
people want to experience a different type of holiday as well as helping others
in Nepal and one of the best countries for people who are interested in
volunteering due to the poverty levels in so many areas.
The volunteer gets to give their time in projects designed
to help the poorer children education and members of the community. And in
return the volunteer will learn about their hosts and the country that they
live in. With the right organization it can be such a rewarding experience with
you coming away with lifelong friends and memories.
But everyone has a part to play because when you are looking
for a volunteer experience you must check the quality of the organization you
are going to volunteer with because there are many that is a way of making
money making for the owners. And with every person being different in their
requirements for a great experience we advise you to ask as many questions you
need to feel at home.
At Vision Nepal we actually encourage regular emails in preparation for your experience in Nepal. Whether Teaching English in Kathmandu or heading for a medical placement in Phulasi all projects are different so please feel free to get in touch. The only projects that are generally the same throughout Nepal are working with daycare centers because in all areas the children need people to care for them and help to show a better life can be had.
But one of the most important things that you will learn
from your time volunteering is to have fun and learn something about yourself
in a different environment.
IT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE AND WE ARE THE HOSTS SO LET’S WORK
TOGETHER FOR THE VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME.
The Project aim of Vision Nepal has always been to build a strong
volunteer organization from which to launch our own humanitarian projects. Many
organizations claim to be non-profit but here at VN we invest all our profits
back into these projects. Each year we work with several projects related to
the fields of Education, single women or Health.
So if you are an organization, University or college looking
for a project to establish in Nepal, then why not talk with Vision Nepal about
helping create a sustainable project in Nepal.
Charity Trekking in Nepal Vision Nepal has recently started a new service for anyone
looking to visit Nepal and give something back. Whether you’re Trekking, Rafting, Sightseeing or out on
Safari we can help you book your adventure with a reliable local agent that has
agreed to donate 30 to 50% of the profit to Vision Nepal we book with them to
help fund future projects in Nepal.
As a new and small NGO with limited resources and staff we
have relied on volunteer fees to carry on the work we do. With the exception of
the earthquake in 2015 we would only see 5 to 10% at best of all the charities
income coming from donations. In 2015 we
did see a massive increase in money being donated and ended up receiving some
money.
Now Vision Nepal receives a much lower amount in donations
but wants to do more after seeing the new school open but we are not the type
of NGO go begging or trying to guilt trip you into donating money by using
heart breaking stories and pictures of people we help. We like to focus on the
positives of what we do and where so what better way than to encourage more
people to come see the wonderful Himalayan kingdom of Nepal.
You can come as a volunteer and then do a trek or safari or
just come as a tourist and use us as our service to help us make more to do
more. We have checked many agents and guides over the years and found one that
is reliable with good guides and fair prices. They have agreed to donated 30 to
50% of the profit they make to Vision Nepal on every customer we send to them
but the prices they will charge you are the same as if you went direct so it
will not affect the price you pay. So by now you may be asking what else the money Vision Nepal
makes from this service goes towards.
Every year we have a few projects that volunteers come from
across the globe to help with. These are the school painting projects and free
health camps that we run in the Government village schools we work with. We put together teams of volunteers paint
Government schools in village areas with bright and colourful designs. It’s a
simple this to do and gives the schools a much brighter and more hospitable
look and feel. It also does not take a paid job away from a local as the
Government would never have enough money to budget for artwork.
On trekking and other activities Nepal has to offer you have
a few more options than you may think. Of course trekking and climbing are the
first two activities that would come to mind for most and with 8 of the world’s
highest peaks all here it’s not hard to see why. Everest or Sagarmatha to give
it its local name is the highest peak in the world and has one of the most
popular treks called the Everest Base Camp trek. Topping out about 5550m above
sea level this is a trek that will test you tolerance to altitude so trekkers beware.
Then you have the stunning Annapurna ranges which are located more centrally.
These are a little lower than the Sagarmatha range but are easier to access and
have some breath taking views of snow-capped mountains. Poon hill, Annapurna
base camp and the Annapurna circuit are the main routes but many others are
there to be explored. Langtang, Mustang, Manasalu, Sailung Phulasi and Dolpa
are some of the other areas trekkers and climbers can explore should you wish
to try a trek on less trodden path. After this Nepal has a rich culture and
heritage to share along with some rare and stunning wildlife.
Kathmandu is without doubt one of the dustiest and dirtiest
cities. But it also holds so many hidden gems and secrets for the adventurous
traveler to find. From the 55 window palace in Bhaktapur to the flying flags
of Swoyambhu nath Kathmandu has plenty of history and culture to explore. If cities are not your thing and trekking seems too much
like hard work then why not try Yoga and meditation in Phulasi around? Nepal is
the birth place of Lord Buddha and the second home of Hinduism so with that
comes a deep spirit of species and natural wonders. If you are looking to come
to Nepal as a volunteer or tourist and want to give a little back then all we
ask if a chance to quote on your adventure?
START YOUR ADVENTURE
IN NEPAL BY FUNDRAISING
We are looking for people interested in fundraising for our
projects in Nepal because since our very first day we have always been honest
with the money that people have given us to support our work & that’s quite
rare in this field of work.So charities have offers in various ways & which will take up a sizeable slice of any money you rise for them. But Vision Nepal is different because our belief is only
people who are working in Nepal should be paid meaning at least 95% of the
money
How we actually work is that we fund most of our organization
through international volunteers which we place in various projects across
Nepal. But if we want to grow into a serious charity tackling bigger problems
then we need to look at fundraising in a more professional manner. And this is
becoming a reality after several volunteers who liked our work and helped to promote
it when they went home.
Kind people like Peter who put Vision Nepal in front of her
college, Sallay who has donated sum of money to be spent on children education in
Nepal, Peter & Padam who are always helping out with the projects in Phulasi.
We are a registered in Nepal & Australia charity even
though the majority of our work is done in Nepal & there are several
reasons for this, one is the fact that the founders are from the Nepal and have
strong ties there & the second is that by being registered in the Australia
we are accountable to the charities. So this gives us a greater level of
transparency in our work and provides a level of assurance to our supporters.
After several visits Peter Tingle is well known among the students Generated will go to Nepal where it’s needed. Should you choose to use the Vision Nepal booking service we will be only too happy to meet you when you are in Nepal and if possible take you to see what we do and how you have helped.
All the best and safe travels …
Vision Nepal
