Autumn (September
- November)
This season is considered the best time for trekking in
Nepal since it offers superb weather conditions and excellent mountain views.
Temperatures are moderate, and skies are generally clear, making it the best
time to take on trekking trips. Occasional short storms may dump snow at high
altitudes.
Winter (December
- February)
This season is noted for occasional snowfall only at higher
elevations, making it suitable for trekking at lower height, normally below (3500)m. Snow-capped mountains are still visible during this time.
Spring (March -
May)
This is the other best time for any trekking routes in
Nepal. This season offers different varieties of wild flowers, especially the
rhododendrons, making the hillside above (3000)m a hunting paradise during this
time of the year. It is mildly warm at lower elevations, but at higher
elevation over (4000)m; the temperature is rather moderate.
Summer/Monsoon
(June - August)
Summer months continue up to mid-September making travel wet
and warm. This time is a blessing for the botanists or photographers as the
higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation, making
this the perfect time to capture Nepal in all its beauty. It’s recommended to
carry insect repellent when trekking during these months.
